FAQ
What is 'Prometeon Tire'
Prometeon Tire (Prometeon Tyre Group) is a premium-tier commercial tire manufacturer that was established in 2017 as a spin-off following the rebranding and eventual sale of Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.’s industrial tire business, including its TBR, AG, and OTR segments.
Today, Prometeon is an independent company headquartered in Milan, Italy, with four global R&D centers and a presence across five continents, ranking among the top 20 tire manufacturers globally by revenue.
Where are Prometeon tires made?
Prometeon tires are produced in four advanced manufacturing facilities across three countries: two in Brazil (Santo André and Porto Alegre), one in Egypt (Alexandria), and one in Turkey (İzmit).
Are Prometeon and Pirelli the same company?
No. Prometeon and Pirelli are separate companies. Prometeon was created in 2017 as a spin-off from Pirelli’s industrial tire business and now operates independently, while Pirelli (Pirelli Tyre S.p.A.) remains a separate tire company focused primarily on consumer, passenger, light truck, motorcycle, and bicycle tire segments.
What is 'Prometeon Engineered'?
“Prometeon Engineered” is the development framework behind the proprietary compound and casing technologies used across all Prometeon-manufactured tires. Every tire is built for dependable performance through advanced compounds, structural innovation, in-house field testing, and sustained investment in R&D. For fleets, that means more consistent performance, less downtime, and lower operating costs.
What is the Enhanced Casing Warranty?
Prometeon’s Enhanced Casing Limited Warranty covers select Pirelli-branded TBR tires for up to 7 years, 700,000 total miles, or 3 retreads, whichever comes first. Coverage applies only to eligible tires used exclusively in long-haul and regional highway service throughout the life of the casing and any subsequent retreads. For full details, please refer to the “Enhanced Casing Limited Warranty” section in the Prometeon / Pirelli TBR Data Book.
